Just trying out my new fancy shmancy mobile blogging. I'm never going to use it, but thought I'd try it. This is a picture of my famous ~pizza~, prebaked, of course... looks like nothing special, but beware...
I use this all the time. Except, I didn't realize that I could send photos. I usually send photos to Flickr from my phone. But only txt messages from my phone to Blogger. I will have to experiment.
But to answer your question, there is NO access to cell service in either Japan or China. You'd think...but, no. Technically, I have a phone that will work on their networks. I'd just have to get a prepaid SIM card. But while that is a common thing in Europe, evidently, it is more difficult in Asia. They can make mobile phones with robotic arms to tap you on the shoulder when a call is coming in, but they can't get a handle on prepaid cell phone service.
